It’s been quite a year, but we’ve finally made it to December. As we try to navigate the 2020 holidays and look forward to what 2021 might bring, it’s incredible to think about what we’ve gone through and how things have changed. My company has made a lot of adjustments, especially to keep serving my clients’ companies, who’ve had to face the unknown month after month.
The New Normal
Of course, I’ve always pushed the importance of digital marketing, but never has an online presence been more important than in 2020. Companies that previously used their websites and social media as secondary tools have had to rely on the internet more and more. We’ve helped brick-and-mortar companies set up ecommerce operations; we’ve gotten the message out there about COVID safety procedures; we’ve promoted successful virtual events; and ultimately, we’ve helped our clients stay continuously in touch with their patrons and potential patrons—which is what the internet does best: communication.
It’s been challenge after challenge, but ultimately, we’ve shown the extent to which we can all keep going even as we’re restricted to a primarily virtual existence.
Looking on the Bright Side
It’s unfortunate that so many businesses have struggled, but there’s also a big part of me that’s proud of what we’ve all accomplished together. Entrepreneurs have worked on the fly to figure out new ways to stay relevant, and I’m incredibly honored that so many people have come to me to help them be successful in these weird times. It just validates my believe that we’re doing a lot of things right.
What the Future Holds
So in a lot of ways, 2021 looks pretty fantastic. My team and I are working with our clients on multiple fronts, optimizing their sites, energizing their social media, designing strategic online ad campaigns, and rolling with marketplace changes as they happen. It’s so reassuring to see them succeed, and it energizes us as we continue to welcome new clients into the Deckard & Co. family. We know we’ve got what it takes to take on new challenges and make any situation work for everyone.
After what we’ve been through this year, I’m pretty sure we can do anything.
